I like the plenty, and I'm glad that there are editors who behave this way.

I do want to say that there are sometimes good reasons for keeping things permanently in the file drawer (e.g., failed manipulations, ideas that were wrong and that wrongness is uninteresting, RAs who fail to follow protocols, etc.).

We still need principles and guidance to decide what's "file drawer" and what's genuine dreck.
